The Phoenix convention had exciting news for chapters. The Board of Directors voted to change the revenue distribution when a chapter delivers an RCI developed edcational course. Hopefully, the new 50/50 distribution will make delivering RCI courses easier and more appealing for chapters.

I was also pleased that two new Region III chapters were discussed – a Dallas area chapter and a St. Louis area chapter. I will be working to get these chapters initiated. Volunteers are always needed – don’t miss this opportunity to be a “charter member” of your local chapter.

I also met with a few people about resuming the Twin Cities chapter development, and would appreciate anybody with interested in this chapter to contact me. We need a few more members to make this successful – the bull-work has already been done!

I have been in contact with Ron Erdman regarding the development of a Dallas chapter. If you are in the DFW area and have any questions regarding an RCI chapter, please let me know. I am tentatively planning an intial meeting in conjunction with the RCI Board of Directors meeting September 19-20 in Dallas. I will publish the date, time, and place as soon as I can arrange it.

I have sent a letter to all the members in Minnesota regarding the development of the Twin Cities chapter. I will be scheduling an informational meeting – please feel free to suggest a date, time, and place.

I will be attending and co-presenting at the Ohio Valley Chapter educational program on Waterproofing on April 17 in Indianapolis. It is an honor to co-present with Justin Henshell, FAIA, FASTM on waterproofing! If you have any questions regarding this event, please do not hesitate to contact me or a member of the OHV chapter.

I plan to attend the Chicago chapter program and meeting on May 16 at the Weber Grill in Lombard.

After a discussion with Sue Baumberger, I will plan to attend the Great Lakes Chapter program in September.

If possible, I would like to meet with the Gulf Coast and San Antonio / Austin chapters in conjunction with the September BOD meeting.

If you have any chapter news or comments, please post!

    Thank you,

In addition to the three chapters I mentioned before, an Iowa chapter is taking shape. An informational meeting will be held in Cedar Rapids 3:00 PM, Friday, May 30.

Unfortunately, I will be unable to attend the Chicago chapter meeting on May 16. I am planning to attend the next CAC event.

I am looking forward to the Iowa Chapter Developent meeting this Friday, May 30 in Cedar Rapids.

There will be an announcement in RCItems regarding a meeting for the Twin Cities chapter. This meeting will be en effort to support earlier efforts at chapter development. Stay tuned for more information.

There is interest in a St. Louis chapter. I will try to set-up an informational meeting in July or August. I will try to have something published regarding the final date in the July RCItems.

I will attempting to visit the Texas chapters in September in conjunction with the mid-year board of directors meeting in Dallas. I also hope to meet with anybody interested in the developing Dallas / Ft. Worth Chapter.

Is there any interest in a Wisconsin chapter???

  6. tomgernetzke Says:

The Iowa Chapter is progressing and hopes to submit their application for charter very soon. The Twin Cities chapter is continuing their considerations, and I am holding an informational meeting in St. Louis later today. I also plan to meet with Ron Erdman in Dallas in September.

With high gas prices and a tubulent economy, the development of chapters in RCI will better serve member needs by reducing travel time and expenses to obtain continuing education and other member needs.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or comments.
